How long have you been cutting hair, and where did you train?

21 years in the industry, I beginning my training in hair care company Wella Chile.
Updating knowledges permanently. By L’oreal chile, and TIGI CHile.

So you started your career in hair salons and learned to cut both men’s and women’s hair?

Not really, I started has a marketing advisor, at the same time of student of Hairdressing for mens and womens being trained through L’oreal and Wella professional programs to became a master stylist before to star with both ladies and gentlemen.

What are some styles and trends you’ve seen make a comeback recently?


Mullets have made a comeback.

If you could cut anyone’s hair, dead or alive, who would it be?

Definitely Robert Lobetta.

What do you get up to outside of work?

Outside of work I dedicatee my love and time to my NZ Family.

Who is a style icon (past or present) whose hair you admire?

Robert Lobetta is an icon for me.

How have men’s grooming habits changed since you started cutting hair?

After 21 years, the big change for me its been just after covid, showing tho the societies people don't need a sharp look to be work efficient and responsible on it.

Have you noticed a change in culture, with more women coming to barbershops for a haircut or feeling more comfortable there?

The gender division between salons and barbershops is in extinct. People are looking for and want quality. It doesn’t matter where.

Would you give any advice to a woman who’s never been to a barbershop in Wellington for a haircut compared to going to a salon?

There are good hands everywhere not just in salons. At Dukes we are experienced to help you feel the best version of yourself.

If you could give just one piece of hair advice, what would it be?

I don't feel there is one piece of advice I can give to everyone. All hair is different and your lifestyle makes a big difference in how you should look after you hair.
